“Test the product on your skin to see if the payoff is what you expect or what you liked about the color in the palette,” says Waitesmith. “Budget-priced palettes often look vibrant in the palette, but the color appears washed out on skin since most of the formula is made up of no-color ‘filler’ ingredients.”
